Portrait me

While our now fourth month old (how did that happen?!) takes a power nap, I'm powering through a couple tasks in a haphazard fashion; making appointments, checking a route for this weekend's first trip to the airport for little'un, catching up with the surface of my email inbox (for the past 4 months I've not been able to get past the first page so if you emailed me a while back and I've not replied please send it again!!!)

I'm also tryyying very hard to get through a bunch of photos I took throughout last year of custom jobs I did.  Here are some pet portraits I finished.  You can order your very own through my etsy shop, it's very easy and you don't need to have your photos of your pet ready before you place your order.

Ok onto the next task. TTFN and wish us luck for our first mommy-daughter airplane trip on Saturday.  We'll be the ones at the airport 8 hours before the actual gate opens.

Occupational hazards

A quick update on this sunny Wednesday morning.  I've not been running much because I fell down the stairs (doh!) and have a very swollen left foot that isn't broken but definitely doesn't want to be walked on let alone used for running.  Do you know why I fell down the stairs? Because I was rushing to answer the door to a courier delivering a 7kg bag of poly stuffing... on a Sunday!  Serves me right for working on a Sunday I guess.  

Anyways... I've been doing lots of pet portraits recently.  Here's one of them, framed up:

I also recently treated my little studio to a supercool sofa and it's suddenly starting to feel like a real studio. Somewhere for all the pillows to hang out.  And speaking of pillows and polystuffing, there is a brand new one today! For bike lovers.

And don't fret there's also a mini one to hang on your tree.

We put our tree up at the weekend.  Bring on the madness!

itty bitty doggies

Darn, this holiday season is pretty busy! Lots of pet portraits and couple portraits happening over here.  Some new border terrier pillows up in the etsy shop today.  Be right back just off to eat some rice pudding.

Put a frame on it

Recently did these silly pet portraits for a science teacher dog mommy.  She asked could she get them framed so I popped them in these cute little wooden frames.

Wedding gift idea (for mine, I'd like to be bloody left alone!)

I've been off radar for a little while; spent a very relaxing and peaceful week in France at Mom and Dad's, then have had a succession of wonderful girlfriends visiting - with another on her way this weekend.  While I try to handle wedding-related logistics in a cool and friendly (INSIDE I'M SHOUTING) manner I just wanted to show you some pics of the recent portraits I finished up and mailed out.

Counting my blessings

I'm lucky that I get to draw dogs for my job.

I'm lucky that I sell little handmade bearded men all over the freaking world.  The bearded men don't do anything bar make people smile and keep them company but folks like them and buy them and share them with their friends.  How awesome is that?

I'm lucky that I can live in a little bubble where Unicorns exist wholeheartedly.  

I'm lucky my fiance doesn't get mad at me when I stand on our table to photograph cards,  

or when I fill up the spare room with pillows and bags of red licorice and play a single track over and over and over and over again while I'm sewing said pillows. 

I'm lucky that I'm going to have 5 bridesmaids at our wedding and they are GOLDEN. (some special bridesbitches gifts I got for my ladies.  Inside are handmade lucky charms from a super lady in San Francisco.)

I'm lucky that people ask me to draw awesome shit, like vampires and green smoothies and grumpy-ass cats.  

And that I can make special gifts for our friends that are personal and nice.  

I'm just generally pretty lucky that I do something that I love every day.  

So lucky. 

Thursday

Been doing quite a few pet portraits recently.  Also been eating dark chocolate-covered ginger in large quantities.  Amongst other things.
