Plushies update

Can't believe summer has crept up on us! My baby girl turned 6 months this weekend, we're currently trying to sell our flat and I'm weighing up bringing in a new member of staff to the business.  We're also on the lookout for a dedicated unit for the studio and eyeing up some trade fairs for later in the year.  Busy busy, not enough hours in the day, trying to slow down, trying to keep up! Enjoy the sunshine... I got out for a 6 mile run last night and it was fabulous. Bye for now friends x

Kiddo kiddo

Having a kiddo has kinda sent me kids clothes-wild.  My daughter has a wardrobe absolutely bursting at the seams; I can't help but indulge her in the beautiful colours and patterns available.  I guess being a creative it's like second nature to see her as another creative outlet.  Poor thing.

Me and my seamstress have been working on some clothes and functional items for the younger generation; here are some of the results... some are prototypes, some are being sold as a limited run and some are just for us to keep! Most of the fabrics are my own designs.  If you're interested in the playmat, I am selling them through my own website only.  The hats, trousers and skirts are being sold in limited amounts through my etsy site.  

Whey Hey!

In case you're not aware, our lives changed in December.  Our family of 2 became a trio when our awesome daughter was born and my husband and I became parents. People warned us things would change and although they did in some aspects, the things that changed for me were mostly intangible things that took me quite a while to come around to understanding.

More on our birth story and the journey of the first few months to come - but basically over the past month I've finally started to put time aside each week for headspace.  And goodness me I've become nicer and more able to cope with life.  A run, a yoga session, a nap.  A walk.  It's hard, because I'm pretty go - go - go as a personality type.  I get enjoyment from a busy schedule and I gain a sense of acheivement from ticking tasks of a list.  Hey, slow down. That's what I say to me.

Anyways. My point is... I got some of this delicious protein ice cream sent to me to try.  It's called Whey Hey and it's made with natural sweeteners, is sugar free and is a good way of getting some essential protein.  I decided to make up a bowl of the vanilla flavour as a midmorning snack, topped with almonds, chia seeds, banana and sunflower seeds.  Served with a huge jug of carrot and apple juice.  Really tasty, fulfilling and an excellent source of me-time.

While our now fourth month old (how did that happen?!) takes a power nap, I'm powering through a couple tasks in a haphazard fashion; making appointments, checking a route for this weekend's first trip to the airport for little'un, catching up with the surface of my email inbox (for the past 4 months I've not been able to get past the first page so if you emailed me a while back and I've not replied please send it again!!!)

I'm also tryyying very hard to get through a bunch of photos I took throughout last year of custom jobs I did.  Here are some pet portraits I finished.  You can order your very own through my etsy shop, it's very easy and you don't need to have your photos of your pet ready before you place your order.

Ok onto the next task. TTFN and wish us luck for our first mommy-daughter airplane trip on Saturday.  We'll be the ones at the airport 8 hours before the actual gate opens.
